Pramono Anung to Adjust Transjabodetabek Fares for Blok M–Airport Route

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is implementing an adjustment to the Transjabodetabek service fares, including the recently inaugurated Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route. Pramono Anung stated that the fare adjustment is necessary to ensure that the pricing is more realistic in relation to the service level and the distance covered for the public.

“I mentioned this when we officially launched the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta route. It is not feasible for the Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta route to remain at Rp3,500, given that other services like Damri average well above Rp100,000,” Pramono said in South Jakarta on Monday (8/6).

According to him, the new fare amounts are currently under discussion and a decision will be reached in the near future. “Consequently, there will be an adjustment; the figure will be decided shortly,” he added.

Previously, Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno suggested that Transjabodetabek fares might start from Rp10,000. However, Pramono emphasised that the final decision rests with him. “I will make the decision,” he asserted.

The decision regarding the new fares is expected to be announced soon, once all studies and calculations have been completed.
