The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, believes that the 2026 Jakarta Flora and Fauna Exhibition (Flona) reflects the diversity of Jakarta’s society. He expressed this sentiment during a visit to Flona 2026 alongside the Chairperson of the Jakarta TP PKK, Hani Pramono, at Lapangan Banteng Park, Central Jakarta, on Friday (4/9).

Pramono praised this year’s organisation of Flona, which showcases the richness of flora, fauna, and the cultures of various regions across Indonesia.

“I believe this year’s implementation is one of the best. I toured the area and saw different themes representing five cities and one regency,” said Pramono.

According to him, this diversity is clearly visible through house ornaments, plants, and various elements displayed throughout the exhibition area.

“This reflects that Jakarta, in terms of diversity and difference, maintains openness for the people of Jakarta and for anyone who comes to Jakarta with their respective ethnic cultures. We are certainly very open,” he added.

Carrying the theme ‘Nusantara Roots Growing in Jakarta’, Flona 2026 runs from 28 August to 28 September 2026, and is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00 WIB. The exhibition features 284 booths and involves communities, associations, creative economy actors, and creative industries. Pramono hopes that the high level of visitor enthusiasm will directly impact the increase in transactions for MSMEs.

“Visitor numbers have seen an extraordinary increase. Hopefully, transactions for MSME players will also see a rise,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Parks and Urban Forestry Office, Fajar Sauri, stated that Flona 2026 targets transactions of approximately Rp40 billion, with a target of over 17,000 visitors per day during weekends and an average of 12,000 visitors per day on weekdays.

Through Flona, the Jakarta Provincial Government aims to transform green open spaces into more than just areas for reforestation, but also as spaces for education, recreation, public interaction, and as drivers of the community’s economy. Flona 2026 is organised to introduce Indonesia’s rich biodiversity while increasing public awareness regarding environmental sustainability.
