Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has requested the DKI Inspectorate to delve into allegations of manipulation of artificial intelligence (AI)-based content on the JAKI application, which became viral regarding reports of illegal parking in Kalisari, Jakarta.

Pramono emphasised that the examination process will be comprehensive, involving all related parties, from the ward head, Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Officers (PPSU), to the district office (Sudin) ranks.

“Now, the Inspectorate is conducting an in-depth investigation, both with the Kalisari ward head, then the PPSU, and then the Sudin. Everything will eventually come to light,” he stated at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (7/7).

He stressed that the tracing must not stop at field-level parties alone. Pramono firmly requested that the parties responsible for creating and disseminating the content be properly uncovered.

“If then blaming the PPSU also won’t do. The PPSU certainly isn’t the one who did or manipulated the AI,” he said.

According to him, the main focus now is to identify the actors behind the creation and dissemination of the AI-based content.

“What I request to be delved into is to find out who did the AI, then who uploaded it,” he asserted.

Although the local ward head has issued an apology, Pramono assured that the in-depth process will continue.

“Even though the ward head has apologised, I still request the Inspectorate to delve into this,” he emphasised.

This step, according to Pramono, is part of the DKI Provincial Government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of apparatus and ensuring that the use of technology, including AI, is not misused in the government environment.
