Pramono Anung Jokes with Veronica Tan: City Hall Feels Like Home

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung shared a joke with the Deputy Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (Wamen PPPA), Veronica Tan, at Jakarta City Hall. Pramono remarked that Veronica’s presence at City Hall felt as if she were in her own home.

The jest was made during the signing of a Joint Decree (SKB) for the Pilot Programme for the Implementation of Integrated Services for Women and Children at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (4/6/2026). Initially, Pramono greeted the invited guests individually, including Minister of PPPA Arifah Fauzi and Veronica Tan.

“I was just whispering to the Chief of Police that for Mrs Vero, this office is already like her own home. That is why she knows the layout so well, and her speeches are already so fluent,” said Pramono, which was met with laughter from the guests.

Pramono made the joke in recognition of how frequently Veronica has attended various activities within the Jakarta City Hall environment since assuming her role as Deputy Minister of PPPA.

On this occasion, Pramono also expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of PPPA for selecting Jakarta as the pilot region for the integrated service programme for women and children victims of violence. According to Pramono, the provincial government of Jakarta will execute this trust seriously alongside all relevant stakeholders.

The pilot programme aims to integrate services for women and children victims of violence to ensure they are faster and more accessible, preventing victims from having to move between different agencies to obtain assistance and protection.

The signing of the Joint Decree was also attended by Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Head of the LPSK Achmadi.
