Pramono Anung Clarifies 'Love Lock' Bridge Location, Not on JPO

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has clarified a misunderstanding regarding the planned location for a ‘Love Lock’ public installation. He stated that the facility will not be placed on an existing pedestrian bridge (JPO) but on a newly constructed bridge crossing a river in the Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, near the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building. “So it’s not on the JPO above. If it were there, it would disrupt travel,” Pramono said in West Jakarta on Thursday. He explained that the new bridge is intended to serve as a space for public expression, particularly for the youth of Jakarta, without interfering with pedestrian mobility. “Hopefully, as part of our integrity and to provide a space for the expression of Jakarta’s youth, please use it for the Love Lock,” he added. The bridge is part of a comprehensive revitalisation of the Rasuna Said area following the provincial government’s resolution of the long-abandoned monorail project’s pile foundations.
