JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, together with Deputy Governor Rano Karno and DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman Khoirudin, is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in the courtyard of DKI Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
“Tomorrow we will hold Eid prayers in the City Hall courtyard. Mr K.H. Ma’ruf Amin is planned to be the imam,” said Pramono when met in the Hotel Indonesia roundabout area, Friday (20/3/2026).
Pramono stated that after the Eid prayers, he would organise a halalbihalal event at City Hall. Additionally, he plans to visit several locations.
“And I might also go around to some places that I usually do. The same goes for Mr DPRD Chairman later,” he said.
On that occasion, Pramono appeared wearing a black peci and a green koko shirt, while Rano Karno wore a black peci with a white top.
Their presence was enthusiastically welcomed by residents who had crowded the area since the afternoon.
Despite being hit by heavy rain, the number of visitors continued to increase until night.
City lights reflecting on the wet streets added a dramatic impression, while the sounds of drum beats and religious music echoed amid the crowd.
“This event is the peak of the series of Idul Mubarak celebrations in Jakarta,” said Pramono.
He mentioned that the celebration was made more lively by the presence of 1,000 drums from 261 kelurahan in Jakarta, as well as representatives from Banten Province and West Sumatra.
In addition, the event was enlivened by a torch parade involving around 5,000 participants, a carnival of decorated vehicles, and a fountain show themed “Jakarta Rhythm of the Fountain”.
Residents appeared to walk with their families, capture moments, and enjoy the performances blended with lights and religious music.
