Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has permitted 11 stations on the Pegangsaan 2 to Manggarai route to be subject to naming rights. “I have approved the immediate implementation of creative financing for naming rights and other schemes at the 11 stations,” Pramono said in East Jakarta on Tuesday. The 11 stations include Pegangsaan 2, Boulevard Utara Summarecon Mall, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Kayu Manis, Matraman, and Manggarai. According to Pramono, the application of naming rights at the capital’s stops and stations is intended to attract investors to jointly develop public facilities. The policy is one of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts in creative financing, as the revenue generated will be used to develop Jakarta. The route from Velodrome to Manggarai is targeted for completion and inauguration by August. Previously, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) (Jakpro) completed the final girder lifting process for the construction of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome–Manggarai route, achieving 100 per cent connectivity. “The final girder was installed above the Double Double Track (DDT) area in Manggarai, which is one of the most critical points in the entire project,” said Jakpro President Director Iwan Takwin. He stated that with the installation of this final girder, the entire series of girder lifting works along the Velodrome–Manggarai corridor is now fully connected. “This marks the completion of one of the most challenging construction stages in the development of Jakarta LRT Phase 1B,” he said.
