Pramono: All Monorail Pillars Dismantled, June Completion Target for Urban Redevelopment
Pramono: All Monorail Pillars Have Been Dismantled, Redevelopment to be Completed in June
The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, stated that all 109 monorail pillars, which had previously been abandoned on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, have now been completely dismantled.
“I am also grateful and would like to thank Bina Marga for ensuring that the 109 monorail pillars have now been cut and tidied up,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (24 February).
He said that the provincial government will begin constructing and redesigning the pedestrian areas, drainage systems, and parks around the roads.
Pramono aims to complete the redevelopment by June.
“We will begin the construction, starting with the pedestrian areas, drainage systems, parks, and so on. Hopefully, by June, I will have achieved my target for the completion of this monorail project,” he said.
On this occasion, Pramono also instructed the Satpol PP (Public Order Agency) to regulate street vendors and online motorcycle taxis on the pedestrian areas of several roads.
“We are asking the Satpol PP to regulate street vendors, whether they are illegal or registered, including online motorcycle taxis, to prevent them from parking their vehicles or setting up their stalls in areas that will be redeveloped by the Jakarta Provincial Government,” he said.
