Pramono Affirms Sanctions for Civil Servants Absent from Work After WFA Ends
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has affirmed that there will be no tolerance for civil servants (ASN) who are late or absent from work after the work from anywhere (WFA) period ends. He assured that all ASN must return to normal office schedules and will face sanctions for any violations.
“Once the WFA period has ended and normal office hours have resumed, if they have not yet reported to the office, sanctions will be applied. There is no room for leniency,” Pramono stated at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Pramono explained that this policy is implemented to ensure optimal public services in Jakarta following the Eid holidays. He also stressed that ASN discipline is a key factor in maintaining the quality of services to the public.
In addition to discipline, Pramono reminded ASN of the prohibition on using official vehicles for personal purposes. He affirmed that any ASN caught using red-plated official cars outside of duties will be dealt with firmly.
“I have instructed that anyone using red-plated official vehicles for personal interests will be strictly sanctioned,” he added.
It is known that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government implemented a WFA policy for a maximum of 50 percent of employees after the Eid holidays. This policy allows ASN to work from the office or other locations without disrupting public service priorities.
This policy follows Circular Letter No. 2 of 2026 from the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) regarding Adjustments to the Implementation of Official Duties for Civil Servant Employees in Government Agencies During National Holidays and Collective Leave for Nyepi Holy Day (Saka New Year 1948) and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
The adjustments apply to two days before Nyepi, namely 16 and 17 March 2026, as well as three days after the Eid collective leave, namely 25 to 27 March 2026.
