Pramono Affirms Commitment to Supporting Sporting Events in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has affirmed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to support the organisation of various sporting activities, including the Gen Coop Run 5K Fun Run held to commemorate the 79th Cooperative Day. Pramono stated that the Jakarta Government will also improve the quality of public spaces and sports facilities to make them more comfortable, safe, and easily accessible to the public. “We want Jakarta to become a city that is friendly to runners, pedestrians, cyclists, and all sports communities,” Pramono said when opening the running event at the Office of the Ministry of Cooperatives of the Republic of Indonesia on Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Sunday. He assessed that sporting events in the capital are part of efforts to improve the quality of life for residents, strengthen Jakarta’s position as a sport tourism destination, and reinforce the city’s image as a healthy, active, and community-friendly global city. Furthermore, this activity demonstrates that cooperatives not only play a role in driving the economy but are also capable of promoting a culture of healthy living and strengthening community togetherness. On the same occasion, the Minister of Cooperatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Ferry Joko Juliantono, expressed his appreciation to Pramono for the revitalisation of the Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said area. He noted that the presence of the Ministry of Cooperatives office in the area allowed him to directly benefit from the improvements carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. “We extend our deepest gratitude to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Mr Pramono Anung, who has transformed the face of Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said into a more beautiful and lush area. This area can now be utilised for Car Free Day events with various activities,” said Ferry.
