Pramono About to Pass By, PPSU Immediately Cleans the Road in Senen
Petugas Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU) workers were seen busily cleaning the road in Gang Buaya, Pasar Senen Dalam, Senen Sub-district, Central Jakarta, on Monday (4/5/2026). They were working as Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung was about to pass through the location. From Kompas.com’s observations at the site, Pramono had previously inaugurated three sub-district offices in Senen. After that, he walked approximately 180 metres to reach RPTRA Planet Senen. The workers swept rubbish, put it into dustpans, and collected it into sacks. Trader stalls blocking the road were also asked to be moved aside. “Move to the side, ma’am, don’t block the road,” said one officer to a trader. In addition, scattered wood and bamboo on the road were removed. Small rubbish such as dry leaves and plastic was cleaned up to the corners of the alley. Some parts of the road were even sprayed with soapy water. In a short time, the road, which previously looked dirty, immediately became clean and tidy. In the area, Pramono also inaugurated several sub-district offices, namely Senen, Tanah Tinggi, Semper Barat, and Sunter Jaya. In his speech, Pramono emphasised that sub-district offices are the closest service points to residents. “The sub-district is the spearhead of services. That’s where residents most often deal with the government,” he said. He also reminded that all services at the sub-district must be truly free and transparent, especially those handled through PTSP. “If it’s free, it must be free. Don’t say it’s free in front but still have levies behind,” he stressed. Pramono hopes that with better offices, services to residents can also improve.
