Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed the readiness of security measures during the Jakarta Ramadan Festival through Eid 2026 will be conducted maximally. On the other hand, although this year features the major theme “Mudik ke Jakarta” (Coming to Jakarta), the DKI Provincial Government will continue to provide free mudik facilities for residents wishing to return to their hometowns.

“We have 690 buses with a capacity of 26,500 people. So there is no need to worry. Although the theme is ‘Mudik ke Jakarta’, we will continue to facilitate anyone who wants to celebrate Eid in their hometown,” Pramono concluded, in Central Jakarta, Friday (27 February).

He emphasised that the capital city has experience handling various large-scale events.

“Regarding security readiness, Jakarta is accustomed to holding major events. For security, we will certainly do everything to the maximum,” said Pramono.

According to him, inter-agency coordination will be strengthened, from regional government elements to security personnel, to ensure the Ramadan and Eid 2026 celebrations proceed safely and orderly.

The free mudik registration opened on 24 February 2026 through 6 March 2026 at the Asia Afrika Pedestrian Bridge. The DKI Provincial Government is facilitating homecoming travel without high transportation costs through the Free Mudik Programme 2026. This year, the provincial government is also opening a free mudik programme to the Thousand Islands for residents of the islands who work in Jakarta’s mainland areas. The second wave of DKI Jakarta free mudik registration provided 3,614 return seats and 1,845 round-trip seats.
