Prameks (Prambanan Express) is a commuter rail service connecting Yogyakarta and Kutoarjo, operated by state-owned Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). The route runs from Yogyakarta Tugu Station to Kutoarjo via Patukan, Rewulu, Sentolo, Wates, Wojo, Jenar, and vice versa.
Tickets cost Rp8,000 per one-way journey. Passengers can book via the Access by KAI app or use contactless payment methods such as Multi-Trip Card (KMT), bank e-money, or QR codes at station gates.
Schedule for Yogyakarta to Kutoarjo:
Departure: 06:40, 11:50, 15:15, 16:20, 18:05 WIB
Arrival: 07:42, 12:49, 16:16, 17:20, 19:03 WIB
Schedule for Kutoarjo to Yogyakarta:
Departure: 05:10, 09:05, 13:19, 16:50, 18:45 WIB
Arrival: 06:10, 10:05, 14:19, 17:52, 19:45 WIB
Booking via Access by KAI app:
Install the app via Play Store or App Store.
Register an account using your email.
Log in and select ‘Local’ on the dashboard.
Enter passenger details, departure date, and stations (e.g., Yogyakarta or Kutoarjo).
Choose available schedules and complete payment. A payment confirmation will be issued for gate access.
For walk-up passengers:
Use KMT, bank e-money, or QR codes to tap in at departure station gates.
Board the train when available and select seats freely.
Tap out upon arrival at the destination station.
