Prambanan-Purwomartani Toll Road Opened for One-Way Functional Traffic from 16 March 2026
The Jogja-Solo toll road segment Prambanan-Purwomartani will be opened functionally for the Lebaran 2026 exodus. The 11-kilometre stretch will operate in a one-way manner with entry via Purwomartani Toll Gate starting 16 March 2026. The Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the DIY Regional Police, Police Commissioner Arie Prasetya Syafa’at, said the route will operate in a limited capacity from 16 to 29 March 2026, in line with the latest coordination with Jasa Marga Toll Road Operator (JMTO). “The functional toll road will still be used, but only for entrance or entry through Purwomartani Toll Gate,” Arie said in a written statement on Thursday (6 March 2026).
“He explained that vehicles will be directed towards Prambanan and then towards Klaten, Solo, and to cities in Central Java and East Java.”
“Operations of the functional route will run from 16 to 29 March from 06:00 to 18:00 WIB,” he said.
“Opening of the functional route is accompanied by a traffic engineering management scenario prepared by the DIY Police together with tol operator. The traffic engineering is prepared to anticipate vehicle surges, especially from the direction of the Prambanan Toll Gate toward the DIY region.”
“We are also preparing several alternative traffic management measures if there is an increase in vehicle volume on the Solo-Jogja segment, especially vehicles leaving the Prambanan Toll Gate,” he explained.
“Currently, several traffic signs are still in the installation stage. Police target all signs to be installed by 10 March and a check will be conducted the following day.”
“Arie added that because the route is still functional, street lighting has not been installed along the entire stretch. Temporary lighting is only available in the area around the toll gate.”
“Lighting has not been provided because it is still a functional route; lights only around the toll gate,” he concluded.
