Prambanan–Purwomartani Functional Toll Road Opens Free of Charge During Eid al-Fitr Holidays

SOLO, KOMPAS.com - PT Jasa Marga Jogja–Solo will operate a functional toll road along the Prambanan–Purwomartani segment, spanning 11.225 kilometres, to support smooth traffic flow during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday. Based on a post on the official Instagram account of PT JasaMarga Jogja Solo, the functional route will be open from 16 March 2026 to 29 March 2026. Operations will run daily from 06:00 to 18:00 WIB and will be situational or may implement an open-close system according to traffic conditions and police discretion. The DIY Police Traffic Directorate’s Senior Commissioner of Police Arie Prasetya Syafa’at said the functional route is designated for vehicles exiting the Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). The policy stems from a coordination meeting between the DIY regional government, the DIY Police, the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, and related stakeholders. With this functional route, people leaving Yogyakarta can enter via the Purwomartani Toll Gate toward Klaten, Solo, up to connecting with the Trans-Java Toll Road. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward or into Yogyakarta are directed to exit via the Prambanan Toll Gate. Infrastructure at the site is still under construction, including the construction of U-turns and land acquisition. Police have taken various mitigation measures to anticipate potential traffic congestion in the area, including queues spilling over to the Solo–Yogyakarta main road. To that end, traffic engineering arrangements have been prepared by the police together with stakeholders at the access junction to the Purwomartani Toll with the Solo–Yogyakarta main road.
