Prambanan Regional Hospital (RSUD Prambanan) in Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, has confirmed it met with the family of toddler Naura Dwi Medita Putri (3), who died after undergoing a CT scan. The hospital has also conveyed an apology to the family. “Our client has visited the patient’s home, was received by the patient’s family, including the family’s legal counsel. We were received, and we have conveyed an apology,” stated RSUD Prambanan’s legal representative, Hifdzil Alim, on Wednesday afternoon (24/6/2026). According to Hifdzil, the apology was delivered by his client for the miscommunication that occurred, including any unpleasant responses from the hospital. “And we have also conveyed an apology for the possibility of any unpleasant reception or unpleasant responses,” Hifdzil explained. Regarding the medical examination results, Hifdzil noted that they can only be delivered at the hospital, not at the patient’s home. The hospital is open if the family wishes to seek an explanation. “So health information related to medical records cannot be delivered at the patient’s home. We will convey the information at the hospital; we are open and will deliver it there,” Hifdzil said. Hifdzil added that his client continues to follow the legal process at the Yogyakarta Regional Police (Polda DIY). Several individuals have been questioned by investigators. “It is still at the clarification stage, interviews, requesting statements. Several from RSUD have been invited to provide clarification; currently we are following that clarification stage,” Hifdzil mentioned. “Our client has been invited to provide statements to clarify this incident,” he added. Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Information Subdivision of the Public Relations Division of Polda DIY, AKBP Verena SW, when asked for confirmation, did not provide further details on the case’s progress. “If there are developments, we will inform you later,” Verena stated briefly. It was previously reported that at least eight people have been questioned regarding the alleged malpractice that led to the death of the three-year-old child at RSUD Prambanan. Of the eight people questioned, three are doctors. “To date, eight people have been asked for clarification,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda DIY, Commissioner Ihsan, in a statement on Friday (12/6/2026). Two of the doctors examined are from RSUD Prambanan, while the other is a clinic doctor. The examinations have been conducted since last week through to this week. “Last week, Polda DIY requested clarification from five people, and this week three people have been asked for clarification: one doctor from the referring clinic and two doctors from RSUD Prambanan,” he explained. He continued that the case remains under investigation. “Regarding the alleged malpractice case at RSUD Prambanan, it is currently still in the investigation stage,” he concluded. The mother, Anastacia Niken Purwandari (36), a resident of Bantul, reported the person in charge of RSUD Prambanan and a doctor to Polda DIY for alleged malpractice. In this case, Anastacia’s biological child, Naura Dwi Medita Putri (3), died after undergoing a CT scan. The report was filed on 17 May 2026 with report number LP/B/319/V/2026/SPKT/Polda DIY. Niken, along with her legal support team, subsequently visited Polda DIY for further examination. “This is a follow-up to the initial examination related to the police report concerning alleged medical negligence as regulated in the Health Law and the Consumer Protection Law,” said one of the victim’s legal team, Purnomo Susanto, when met by journalists at Polda DIY on Tuesday (2/6). The case began when the client’s child, Naura Dwi Medita Putri (3), underwent a follow-up examination at RSUD Prambanan on the morning of 27 April 2026. The examination was a follow-up to one conducted in March 2026 after Naura received a tiered referral, starting from the Posyandu, a clinic, and then to RSUD Prambanan. During the check-up on 27 March, the victim’s head circumference remained at 46 centimetres and was still considered below average for a child of her age. The doctor diagnosed the victim with microcephaly and subsequently recommended a CT scan. Prior to the CT scan procedure, the hospital administered sedation to calm the victim. According to information received, the victim received three sedation injections before the CT scan proceeded. After the CT scan, the victim experienced seizures and vomited blood. Medical staff immediately moved the victim to the ICU, but the victim’s life could not be saved.
