Pram targets DKI's regional-owned enterprises to undergo consolidation within a year
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has targeted that within the next year, the Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) of DKI can undergo consolidation.
“I hope that within the next year, the BUMDs carry out consolidation, and I am also providing room for opportunities because currently, many of Jakarta’s BUMDs are no longer local players, including Bank Jakarta, PAM Jaya, Dharma Jaya, and others, and I am confident that this will bring many benefits to Jakarta,” said Pramono at the Candi Bentar Hall, Putri Duyung Ancol, North Jakarta, on Friday (17/4).
In addition, the man often called Pram also urged DKI’s BUMDs to continue boosting competitiveness so as not to be limited to dominating the domestic market.
To that end, he wants entities owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to start boldly expanding to broader levels.
Pram is optimistic that strong consolidation and the development of a professional corporate culture can drive Jakarta’s BUMDs to face various challenges.
The two main challenges he highlighted are the current geopolitical conditions and the warning of El Niño expected to occur from April to September 2026.
“Therefore, hopefully, BUMD consolidation builds a more open, transparent corporate culture, managed professionally. I am confident that Jakarta’s BUMDs will be increasingly ready,” said Pramono.
