Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stressed that the crackdown on illegal parking in Jakarta will continue without favouritism. He also confirmed there is no selective enforcement, including against luxury vehicles that violate the rules. Pramono made the statement in response to recent enforcement actions by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) at several points, including the Senopati area in South Jakarta. “Regarding the parking enforcement in Jakarta, this activity is indeed one that will be carried out continuously, not a temporary activity,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (26/6/2026). Pramono acknowledged that any enforcement action inevitably generates pros and cons. However, he noted that those who are dissatisfied are usually the ones subjected to the enforcement. “Because this is enforcement, there will definitely be those who are satisfied and those who are not. Especially those who are not satisfied are the ones being ticketed,” he said. He then touched on the enforcement against luxury vehicles recently carried out in the Senopati area. According to him, there has been a perception that luxury cars are never touched by enforcement. “Even yesterday when luxury cars in Senopati were ticketed, because they felt that luxury cars had never been touched before, once they were enforced, they felt that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government did not give them notification,” he explained. Pramono then quipped about this assumption. He said the government could not possibly give special notification to violators before carrying out enforcement. “How could we notify them, when all this time they have been ticketed in places where they usually park, especially luxury cars,” he said. Pramono stressed that the illegal parking crackdown will continue throughout Jakarta. He ensured that all violators will be treated equally regardless of the type of vehicle or who the owner is. “So, for enforcement activities, this will continue and apply in all areas and under all conditions. We do not discriminate in this matter,” he added. Previously, the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency (Sudinhub) conducted an illegal parking operation on Jalan Senopati and Jalan Gunawarman, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Thursday (25/6). During the joint operation, eight motorcycles were impounded for violating parking regulations.
