Pram highlights importance of synergy between school committees and principals for education quality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has emphasised the importance of synergy between school committees and school principals to strengthen education quality in Jakarta. The man familiarly known as Pram assessed that improving education quality cannot be achieved by the school alone, but requires collaboration between school principals, school committees, parents, and the government. “School committees are expected to encourage creative learning that is adaptive to technological developments, as well as create a safe school environment free from bullying,” Pram stated in East Jakarta on Tuesday. Furthermore, he encouraged school committees to be more optimal in supporting improvements to educational facilities and infrastructure. From the government’s side, Pram affirmed that his administration frequently introduces various programmes to strengthen education quality in the capital. “Education and health are top priorities to ensure quality basic services for all residents, especially children and young people. This commitment is realised through various education programmes and enhancements to public service quality,” Pramono explained. These programmes include, among others, the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus, Jakarta Outstanding Student Card (KJMU), and diploma amnesty programmes. In addition, Pramono mentioned that the DKI Provincial Government is planning a Jakarta-specific Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) programme in synergy with the central LPDP and relevant parties. According to him, the continuity of education programmes is an important part of creating a better future for Jakarta.
