The Jakarta Provincial Government and the Banten Provincial Government have established a public transport partnership through the Transjabodetabek bus service, which includes the construction of several bus stops outside the Jakarta region.

Banten Governor Andra Soni has spoken out regarding the maintenance of Transjabodetabek bus stops within Banten. He stated that the Banten Provincial Government lacks the legal basis to utilise the Regional Budget (APBD) for the upkeep of these facilities. “God willing, the situation is that, as of now, these items are not part of the Banten Provincial regional assets,” Andra told reporters in Banten on Friday (31/07/2026).

Andra Soni made these remarks while inspecting Jakarta Provincial Government land alongside Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in Ciangir, Legok, Tangerang Regency. He emphasised that because the bus stops are not assets of the Banten Provincial Government, there is no justification for using the local budget for repairs or maintenance, though he noted that discussions with the Jakarta administration would follow.

During the same visit, Pramono Anung confirmed that the Transjabodetabek bus stops in Banten are managed by the Jakarta administration. He noted that the current condition of the bus stops in Banten, particularly those bordering Jakarta, is relatively good. “Regarding the bus stops, what the Governor said is correct. The management of those stops in Banten will be entirely handled by Jakarta,” he said, adding that facilities serving routes towards the airport, BSD, and Alam Sutera are already in relatively good condition.
