Praka Farizal Rhomadhon to be Buried in Kulon Progo

The body of Praka Farizal Rhomadhon, an Indonesian TNI soldier who was killed while on duty in Lebanon due to an Israeli attack, is planned to be buried in his hometown of Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY). This information was conveyed by Wakidi, the head of Dukuh Ledok in Lendah, Kulon Progo, DIY, based on statements from the deceased’s family. The house of mourning for Praka Farizal is located at RT 17 Ledok, Sidorejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo, DIY. Meanwhile, according to Wakidi, the body will be interred at the Nambangan Cemetery in Ledok as per the family’s wishes. “Earlier, the Babinsa asked me, so I asked the family where the burial would be, at the Heroes’ Cemetery or a public one? (They replied) public,” said Wakidi when met at his residence in Ledok, Sidorejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo, DIY, on Monday (30/3). According to Wakidi, the deceased leaves behind a wife and a two-year-old daughter. Wakidi knew Praka Farizal well. The deceased was known to be active in community activities, including local youth organisation events. According to Wakidi, he joined the Indonesian Army in 2017 and had been stationed in Aceh since then. Wakidi last met the deceased during Eid 2025. However, for this year’s Eid al-Fitr, Farizal did not return home. “I met him in the field during Eid al-Fitr. It was just a brief greeting,” he explained. Meanwhile, the Commander of Kodim 0731/Kulon Progo, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Dyan Niti Sukma, has confirmed that the fallen soldier is indeed Praka Farizal Rhomadhon. According to Dyan, Farizal hailed from Yonif 113/JS of Brigif 25/Siwah under Kodam Iskandar Muda, Aceh. Dyan stated that Farizal’s body is still in Lebanon. He has not yet received the latest information regarding the repatriation of the body or the burial process from the family. “Since he fell while on duty, we will conduct a military burial ceremony,” said Dyan when contacted on Monday. The news of the TNI member’s death was previously confirmed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The attack by Israeli forces occurred near Adchit Al Qusayr. In his official X social media account, Guterres issued a strong condemnation of the attack that killed one TNI personnel attached to UNIFIL.
