Based on data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) One Data Portal, investment realisation in Prabumulih City in the first quarter of 2026 reached IDR 117.669 billion. This marks a significant increase compared to the same period the previous year, which was only IDR 33.112 billion.

Head of the Prabumulih City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP), Arif Suhardiman, stated that there was an investment increase of IDR 84.557 billion, or approximately 255 percent, compared to the first quarter of 2025. The surge demonstrates growing investor confidence in the business climate of Prabumulih.

Arif noted that the oil and gas sector was the largest contributor, with an investment value of around IDR 33.5 billion. The electricity, gas, and water sector placed second with IDR 33.01 billion, while other services ranked third with investments reaching IDR 21.06 billion. The dominance of the oil and gas sector is linked to Prabumulih’s strategic position as a supporting area for the energy industry in South Sumatra, while growth in the utilities and services sectors indicates expanding economic activity.

The first quarter 2026 investment realisation has reached approximately 65.37 percent of the Prabumulih City 2026 Work Plan target of IDR 180 billion. However, the investment target set by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM together with the South Sumatra Provincial Government for Prabumulih City in 2026 is IDR 500 billion.

Arif explained that one factor driving the increase is various service innovations implemented by DPMPTSP, particularly through online consultation and assistance for Investment Activity Report (LKPM) filing, which can be accessed via WhatsApp and Zoom Meeting. This innovation has reportedly improved company compliance in submitting LKPM, a key instrument for recording regional investment realisation. DPMPTSP has also actively promoted investment through various digital platforms and official social media accounts, routinely publishing activities, work programmes, service innovations, and investment opportunity information.

Looking ahead, DPMPTSP Prabumulih will continue to enhance service quality, strengthen investor assistance, and optimise digital investment promotion to attract more investment. With achievement exceeding 65 percent of the regional target in just the first three months of 2026, the Prabumulih City Government is optimistic that this year’s investment target can be achieved and potentially surpassed.
