Prabowo's Story of Travelling to Many Countries to Secure Oil Supply
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto explained that his series of official visits abroad to several countries are intended to secure oil supplies for domestic needs.
This was conveyed by Prabowo during a presidential briefing attended by ministers, deputy ministers, agency heads, and echelon I officials at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“People say Prabowo is just travelling abroad, enjoying trips overseas. Brothers and sisters, to secure oil, I have to go everywhere,” said Prabowo.
The President stressed that amid the volatile global geopolitical situation, the government needs to actively engage in communication and cooperation with various countries to maintain national economic stability, particularly in the energy sector.
Several overseas visits conducted by the President are part of these efforts. In the near future, Prabowo also stated that he will undertake another official trip with a similar mission.
“I’m going to head to another country soon. Once I leave, you’ll know where. To secure (oil) as well,” said the Head of State.
Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia’s foreign policy remains guided by the principle of free and active, by building good relations with various countries to create stability and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The President also expressed optimism about Indonesia’s condition amid global uncertainties. “I’m confident, there’s no such thing as ‘dark Indonesia’ for me. Indonesia is bright while many countries are struggling,” said Prabowo.
On that occasion, Prabowo also stated that the position of president is not a light job and has no holidays because it demands continuous work in carrying out state duties.
“So, standing here, brothers and sisters, don’t think this is an easy job. Those who want to become president, good luck. True, I’ve already committed. So, I have to work very hard, no holidays,” said the President.
