Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has clarified that the meeting between President Prabowo’s son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo, known as Didit Prabowo, and Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Solo on Thursday was purely a social call. ‘It was just a courtesy visit, a social call,’ Prasetyo told reporters at Prabowo’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, on Friday. He explained that the meeting coincided with Didit’s agenda in Solo to attend an event marking the Islamic New Year, 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah. ‘Coincidentally, he was in Solo because of the 1 Muharram event yesterday, so he paid a visit,’ Prasetyo said. He also stated that no message was entrusted by Prabowo to Didit to be conveyed to Jokowi during the meeting. ‘No, there was no message,’ he said. Didit was previously seen visiting Jokowi’s residence in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday. Wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and carrying a black backpack and some papers, Didit entered Jokowi’s home immediately after getting out of his car. The meeting between Didit and Jokowi took place behind closed doors for approximately 40 minutes. After the meeting, Didit said goodbye and shook Jokowi’s hand while bowing. He then walked backwards a few steps before entering his car. Jokowi escorted Didit’s departure to the front of the house before returning inside to receive waiting residents. Didit offered little comment to the media about his meeting with Jokowi, only stating that he had stopped by Jokowi’s residence while in Solo for his activities.
