Prabowo's Remarks on Reasons for Indonesia's Optimism in Facing Global Crisis
President Prabowo Subianto emphasised that Indonesia is in an optimistic position when facing various challenges arising from the current global crisis due to its strong resources. “So amid a world in crisis, many countries are anxious. We must remain vigilant, but we are optimistic. We will face challenges in the coming months, but we have ‘resources’, we have very strong and abundant sources,” said President Prabowo Subianto during the inauguration of PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas’s electric commercial vehicle assembly plant in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday. However, despite having strong resources, the President reminded of the importance of energy conservation and transitioning to the use of clean energy or new renewable energy (EBT). The transition to electric vehicles is one of the solutions being continuously promoted to reduce the use of fossil fuels that produce carbon dioxide. He also expressed appreciation and pride that Indonesia has the capability to produce buses and trucks using electric energy. In addition, he stated that the domestic component level (TKDN) in the production of those buses and trucks has already reached 40 percent. “In a short time, perhaps two years from now, it will head towards 60 percent. Two years after that, it will head towards 80 percent,” he added. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas’s electric commercial vehicle assembly plant in Magelang, Central Java. The Head of State described this initiative as an important milestone in the development of the national industry and stated that he will continue to monitor the project’s progress, including providing support if there are any obstacles.
