President Prabowo Subianto will hold an open house at the State Palace in Jakarta this afternoon, after the President performed Eid prayers in Aceh Tamiang.

The President’s open house at the State Palace will take place around 3:30 PM WIB.

State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stated that this open house is specifically for the general public who wish to exchange greetings with the President. However, this time, ministers, agency heads, and other officials are not required to attend.

“Today, the President is holding an open house specifically for the general public. And he has conveyed for the past few days that it is not mandatory for officials, whether from ministries or institutions, to attend,” said Prasetyo when met by journalists at the State Palace complex on Saturday (21/3/2026).

Prasetyo added that this open house is not mandatory for ministry officials, institutions, and others because President Prabowo does not want to trouble them.

“Because he does not want to trouble them, which sometimes there are agendas or family events. So, this afternoon is indeed specifically for the general public, and we are opening the open house for them,” Prasetyo continued.

Later, President Prabowo will tour and greet the public present at the Presidential Palace, as he did during last year’s Eid.

“Insya Allah, as he did last year, he will tour to greet the public who wish to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with him at Merdeka Palace,” he explained.

Prasetyo revealed that around 4,000 members of the public will visit the State Palace for President Prabowo’s open house.

“Approximately 4,000 people will come to the State Palace; we are not limiting numbers because we give the opportunity to the public who wish to attend voluntarily, and we welcome them,” he said.

The reason for this open house also relates to last year, namely to get closer to the public.

“There is no specific reason; this is part of the tradition that has been ongoing every year. Even if he is not specifically prioritising it, it is more to get closer to the public, as we all know, many of our brothers and sisters are still facing difficulties. Therefore, the President chooses to prioritise the general public,” he clarified.

Regarding the impact of Work From Anywhere (WFA)

Prasetyo also commented on the impact of implementing Work From Anywhere (WFA) during the 2026 Lebaran period, which is government support to allow the public to travel home for mudik freely.

Prasetyo revealed that his office is still calculating the impact of the WFA policy during the 2026 Lebaran.

“Of course, we are considering it; the most important thing today, even amidst the situation or atmosphere, not all of our brothers and sisters are in good condition, but Alhamdulillah, we all performed the one-month fast smoothly. Then the process of mudik back to hometowns, exchanging greetings, we are also monitoring, it is going smoothly although there are some minor issues at certain points,” he concluded.
