Prabowo's Niece Inaugurates NTB Tidar Leadership, Urges Support for Government Programmes
The Chairwoman of the Central Board of Tunas Indonesia Raya (Tidar), Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, has inaugurated Muhammad Alfian as chairman of the Tidar Regional Board (PD) for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for the 2026-2031 period. Saras called on the Tidar NTB leadership to oversee the government programmes of President Prabowo Subianto.
Saras said that Tidar, as the youth wing of the Gerindra Party, has a strategic role in absorbing the aspirations of young people in NTB. Prabowo’s niece noted that more than 53 percent of Indonesia’s population consists of Generation Z and millennials.
“Young people in the regions must be able to embrace and win the votes of young men and women for Gerindra,” Saras said after inaugurating the Tidar NTB board in Mataram on Tuesday evening (11/8/2026).
“Communication must be clear so that government programmes are conveyed directly to the public, while also absorbing their aspirations to be channelled to regional heads,” she added.
Saras also advised all Tidar NTB board members not to merely act as event organisers. She reminded the leadership to prepare for political regeneration ahead of the 2029 General Election.
The Chairman of Gerindra’s NTB Regional Leadership Council (DPD), Lalu Pathul Bahri, encouraged the Tidar NTB board to help grow the Gerindra Party. The Regent of Central Lombok also stressed the importance of the youth’s role in ensuring President Prabowo’s continued relevance.
“The spirit of these young people is very important so that Mr Prabowo remains relevant and grows the Gerindra Party in NTB. From the young to the old, we are one complete unity,” Pathul Bahri said.
Pathul said all Gerindra cadres will fight to win the 2029 presidential and legislative elections. “Gerindra must be able to show its best for NTB and win the upcoming presidential election,” he added.
The Governor of NTB, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, also attended the inauguration of the Tidar NTB board. Iqbal described Tidar as the public face of the Gerindra Party and a strategic partner of the NTB Provincial Government.
“Tidar is Gerindra’s showcase, a reflection of the chairman. As a partner in the NTB Provincial Government, our mentality must also change because we are now in government to serve and realise every good thing for the community,” Iqbal said.
Meanwhile, the newly elected Chairman of Tidar NTB, Muhammad Alfian, stated that he is ready to fully support and oversee the implementation of President Prabowo’s strategic programmes in NTB. Following his inauguration, Alfian will hold a Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) and fill vacancies in three branch boards (PC) at the district level in NTB.
“As children of Gerindra, we are fully committed to overseeing President Prabowo’s programmes. All government programmes are good, and Tidar cadres must also participate in monitoring and be ready to conduct evaluations for the benefit of the community,” Alfian asserted.
