Prabowo's Move to Position Indonesia's Strategic Policy Within Global Dynamics, Supported by PP P2N

Jakarta, VIVA – The PP P2N’s Central Board of Entrepreneurs and Nahdliyin Professionals (PP P2N) has backed President Prabowo’s move to position Indonesia’s strategic policy within global dynamics, through the Macro-Economic Framework (KEM) and the Pokok-pokok Kebijakan Fiskal (PPKF).

Abi Rekso, Vice Chairman for Defence and Strategic Policy of PP P2N, said this is a concrete effort by President Prabowo to realise Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, toward national economic independence and the delivery of public welfare.

Although it has drawn both support and criticism as the idea was seen as mere rhetoric, Abi believes the President’s direction should be supported, and as patriots it is a patriotic duty to participate.

“For us, this is a manifestation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. The APBN’s fiscal policies should protect the people’s economy, while Danantara must aggressively invest and intervene in the global market,” he said.

“The state has an interest in protecting domestic industry from global dynamics. In my terms, this is Patriotic Economy,” he added.

Additionally, he praised Defence Minister Sjafrie’s policy on a special assignment to the TNI-AD for rice and corn production, while the TNI-AL produces soybeans.

He also stressed that the MBG programme should be led from within the military, so that the synergies of food policy would be affirmative.

“This is the manifestation of Patriotic Economy; military involvement is important in maintaining the stability of the economy in the food sector,” Abi said.

“So there are three pillars of Patriotic Economy: the military, civilian society, and professionals. If these elements can work together, God willing, economic stability will be maintained,” he added.
