Prabowo's Message to Rosan on Investment: Job Creation Must Grow
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani, has revealed a message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, regarding the investment sector. According to him, the Head of State hopes that investments entering Indonesia must be able to create jobs domestically. “His message is, of course, that the investments coming in, as I mentioned earlier, the job creation must also grow well, correctly, and with quality. That is the directive from the President,” said Rosan after a meeting with President Prabowo at the Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4/2026). The Head of State also requested that no regulations should hinder investment. “We must not have regulations that actually hinder. Our rules that actually hinder. Those technical instructions, according to the President, if they hinder, they are not necessary,” he stated. In addition, Prabowo is said to have asked Rosan to continue improving the existing investment climate in Indonesia. “We look at the benchmarking with ASEAN countries, with OECD regulations and others. That is the direction from the President,” he added. On the same occasion, Rosan also reported the investment realisation in the first quarter of this year 2026. “The investment realisation in 2026, in the first quarter I reported that alhamdulillah it achieved Rp498.79 trillion or 100.36 percent of the Rp497 trillion target, and that is an increase of 7.22 percent year on year,” Rosan revealed. In the labour sector, the achievement reached 706,569 people or 18.93 percent. “And that achievement for Indonesian workers reached 706,569 people or 18.93 percent year on year,” he said.
