President Prabowo Subianto has cautioned officials at the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) to exercise care in managing state assets valued at Rp 17 trillion. Prabowo urged Danantara to prevent the loss of public funds.

The message was delivered by Prabowo whilst attending a harvest celebration at an aquaculture facility in Kebumen, Central Java.

Prabowo noted that Danantara currently manages approximately 1,040 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with combined assets approaching US$1 trillion, equivalent to Rp 17 trillion.

“The management responsibility is considerable — there are 1,040 SOEs. Their combined value is nearly US$1 trillion, that is Rp 17 trillion. So it must be managed carefully, Pak Dony and all his staff, no losses, no disappearance of funds, it is public money,” Prabowo stated via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Saturday (23 May 2026).

During the event, Prabowo also introduced Danantara’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of the SOE Regulatory Authority, Dony Oskaria.

Prabowo explained that Danantara is Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund responsible for managing national wealth for the benefit of future generations.

“Danantara is our sovereign wealth fund, an acronym for Daya Anagata Nusantara. Daya means energy and strength. Anagata means the future. So they manage the wealth of our entire nation for our children and grandchildren,” Prabowo clarified.
