Prabowo's Message on Bhayangkara Anniversary: Serve the People and Master AI
President Prabowo Subianto conveyed several messages to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) on the occasion of the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary in Cikeas, West Java, on Wednesday (1/7). “On this moment of the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary, I wish to convey several messages as the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said in his speech. Firstly, Prabowo urged Polri to consistently maintain the trust of the Indonesian people. He stated that trust is a police officer’s strongest weapon. Secondly, Prabowo asked Polri to remain close to the people. He requested that Polri always be present when the people need them. “Listen to the people, serve the people, protect the people. Do not make things difficult for the people. Remember, our salaries as state apparatuses come from the people, all our equipment comes from the people, therefore we must truly safeguard and protect our people,” he said. Thirdly, Prabowo asked Polri to always enforce the law fairly. He stated that Polri must be brave in defending what is right and protecting the weak. Fourthly, Prabowo stated that all Polri members must continuously improve their professionalism. “Master science, master technology, master artificial intelligence. Present and future crimes can only be defeated by officers who are always learning, who are intelligent and reliable,” he said. Fifthly, Prabowo asked Polri to always synergise with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). He said Polri cannot work alone. “You must always be together with other institutions, with the TNI, with the government, with all government institutions, with community leaders, with religious scholars, with academics, with the media, with entrepreneurs, with farmers, fishermen, and labourers, with all the people of Indonesia,” he said. Lastly, Prabowo also asked Polri not to be arrogant and to remain humble. He reminded them that a great institution is one that is willing to listen. “Long live the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian National Police. Polri for the community, Precise Polri for an Advanced Indonesia,” he said.
