President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto delivered several messages in his speech at the state-level Nuzulul Qur’an commemoration ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March.

One of his key messages was that Indonesia will strive hard to maintain world peace. “We will make a very strong effort to maintain peace. Of course, maintaining peace is not merely through prayer and hope, but also through effort and hard work,” Prabowo stated.

In his efforts to preserve peace, Prabowo conveyed that Indonesia will not interfere in the affairs of other nations. He noted that Indonesia respects all the powers that exist in the world. “I and all my assistants are determined to maintain friendship and good relations with all peoples, with all countries, with all powers,” he said.

On this occasion, Prabowo also touched upon the fact that many world leaders are currently unable to smoothly maintain peace, despite possessing the power to do so. “In today’s world full of uncertainty, even full of danger, where many leaders in the world with great power are not smoothly maintaining the peace that we need, that all of humanity requires,” he stated.

He said Indonesia, together with other nations, needs to participate in maintaining peace. Indonesia is prepared to cooperate with other nations to achieve this. “We need to forge unity amongst ourselves. Build harmony amongst ourselves to face this situation full of uncertainty. To face this situation full of danger,” he said.

Additionally, Prabowo noted that leadership is a divine destiny. He stated that power exists solely to defend truth, including efforts to improve the welfare of the people. He pledged to uphold this principle in his leadership. “I am increasingly aware that leadership is a destiny, and power originates from Almighty God,” Prabowo said.
