Prabowo's Iftar Moment Seated Beside PBNU Rais Aam, Muhammadiyah Chairman, and MUI Chairman

President Prabowo Subianto hosted a silaturahmi and iftar gathering with leaders of Islamic organisations and the heads of pondok pesantren at Istana Jakarta. Prabowo sat at the same round table as the General Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Chairman of Muhammadiyah, and the Rais Aam of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU). The moment was posted on Prabowo’s Instagram account on Thursday (5 June 2026). Prabowo was seen seated at a small round table in a room. On Prabowo’s side were Haedar Nashir, the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah, and Anwar Iskandar, the General Chairman of MUI. In front of Prabowo was the Rais Aam of PBNU, Miftachul Achyar. A selection of food and desserts for breaking the fast were laid out. “Berbuka puasa bersama Rais Aam PBNU K.H.Miftachul Achyar, Ketua Umum Muhammadiyah Prof. Haedar Nashir, dan Ketua Umum Majelis Ulama Indonesia K.H. Anwar Iskandar di Istana Merdeka, Jakarta. Selamat berbuka puasa bagi saudara-saudara yang menjalankan Ibadah Puasa,” the post read. It is understood that Prabowo invited ulama up to leaders of Islamic organisations for the silaturahmi and breaking of the fast at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta. A total of 170 ulama and habaib were invited to the Istana. “(Agenda) buka puasa bersama. Dengan Pak Nusron, ya nanti semua ketua umum ormas (organisasi kemasyarakatan) Islam, sama mubalig, dan pengasuh pondok pesantren, yang pondok pesantren besar dan mempunyai jaringan yang luas,” Anwar Iskandar said upon arriving at the Istana.
