Prabowo's Gift to Ride-Hailing Drivers! Revenue Share Increases to 92%

Jakarta, VIVA – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has officially signed Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transportation Workers. The regulation requires platform operators to provide work accident guarantees, such as BPJS Health and health insurance.

This was revealed by Prabowo during the International Labour Day or May Day commemoration at the National Monument (Monas) on Friday, 1 May 2026.

“I have also signed presidential regulation number 27 of 2026 on the protection of online transportation workers. As I mentioned earlier, they must be given work accident guarantees, BPJS Health will be provided, health insurance,” said Prabowo.

Not only that, online transportation drivers or ojek online (ojol) will receive 92 percent commission from the platform operators. Because, according to Prabowo, ojol drivers previously only received 80% revenue share from platform operators.

Thus, the fare deduction taken by platform operators is only 8 percent.

“The revenue share from 80 percent for drivers, now minimum becomes 92 percent for drivers,” said Prabowo.

The Head of State also claimed to have raised the minimum wage for workers up to holiday bonuses.

“For drivers and couriers, we are fulfilling, we are expanding job opportunities for workers with disabilities. We are giving 50% discount on work accident insurance contributions and death insurance for workers, not wage recipients,” he stated.

Prabowo also pledged to fight for the interests of all Indonesian people. Especially, the workers whose lives are still difficult.

He emphasised that he would not hesitate to defend the interests of all Indonesian people.

“I am determined, I swear to fight for the interests of all Indonesian people and especially those whose lives are still difficult, that is my duty and that is the duty of the government I lead and that is our determination, we will not be intimidated. We will not hesitate to defend the interests of the Indonesian people,” he said.
