Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to France has yielded four commercial agreements worth $3.5 billion (approximately Rp61.25 trillion), strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Government Communications Agency (Bakom) of Indonesia stated on Saturday that Minister of Investment and Hilirisasi/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani announced the agreements during the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council on May 28, 2026.

“This forum serves not only as a platform for business dialogue but also as a catalyst for driving investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both countries,” said Rosan.

The launch was witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The forum brought together 30 leading Indonesian and French company executives and industry leaders with a combined market capitalisation of $1.3 trillion.

The council is co-chaired by Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone and Chair of France-Indonesia Business Council MEDEF International, and Anindya Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

Rosan noted that French business confidence in Indonesia continues to grow as the country positions itself as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects.

“French businesses’ confidence in Indonesia is rising. The agreements reached demonstrate that Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with strong long-term growth potential and an increasingly competitive investment climate,” Rosan said.

Looking ahead, the Indonesia-France Business Council aims to triple bilateral trade value by 2035 through enhanced cooperation between KADIN and Mouvement des Entreprises de France International.

President Prabowo Subianto returned to Indonesia on Saturday (30 May) after concluding his official visit to France.

His arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta was greeted by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita.
