Prabowo's Eid Safari in North Sumatra and Aceh
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto undertook an Eid safari during Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in parts of Sumatra hit by flash floods and landslides at the end of last year. On Saturday, 21 March 2026, Prabowo performed Id prayers at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang. After prayers, he greeted residents living in temporary housing or huntara in Aceh Tamiang and shook their hands. Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Prabowo also wished to monitor the progress of post-disaster handling. “We want to check,” said Teddy on Saturday, 21 March 2026, as reported by the Antara News Agency. Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf accompanied Prabowo’s visit. Prabowo and Muzakir Manaf entered one of the houses in the huntara and chatted with the residents living there.
