A bull from Banten has been selected as the sacrificial animal of choice by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri/2026 CE. The bull, a Brangus breed weighing 1.15 tons, belongs to Falahudin, a breeder from Balaraja, Tangerang Regency.

This jumbo Brangus bull, a crossbreed of Brahman and Aberdeen Angus, named Ambo, will serve as the president’s donation to the community of Tangerang Regency.

“I am very proud that my Brangus bull has been chosen by President Prabowo Subianto. I am incredibly happy and feel immense joy in my life,” said Falahudin in Tangerang, Friday.

He stated that, after being selected as the president’s sacrificial animal, he ensured that the bull received proper care. This included regular deworming and blood and stool tests every three months to maintain its excellent condition.

“The blood and stool have been checked. Deworming is also done regularly every three months. So, it is in prime condition and healthy,” he said.

Falahudin mentioned that he has been raising Ambo since it was 1.5 years old, and now the animal is four years old. “During this time, Ambo has grown rapidly,” he added.

He revealed that President Prabowo purchased the bull for a market price of IDR 110 million. “It was bought at the usual market price, around IDR 110 million,” he said.

Falah stated that Ambo will be delivered to the Al-Amjad Grand Mosque on the day of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri. After the handover, the bull will be taken to the slaughterhouse in Tangerang Regency.

“The plan is to bring it to the Al-Amjad Mosque in Tigaraksa,” he said. (Ant)
