Prabowo's Directive on 2026 Homecoming: Calls for TNI and National Police Involvement
President Prabowo Subianto has outlined his directives regarding the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period. He has called on all parties to contribute to the success of this tradition. His instructions were shared during a Cabinet meeting on Friday, 13 March 2026.
“First, I ask the Transport Minister to ensure that the pricing discount policy is implemented as effectively as possible, including discounts on air, rail, sea and toll road tickets,” Prabowo stated.
He also requested that all transportation services remain of high quality across all locations and points. He further directed the TNI Commander and National Police Chief to mobilise all assets and resources at their institutions’ disposal to facilitate the Lebaran homecoming.
“It is possible that the Navy and Army have vessels that could be made available and coordinated with the Transport Minister. I believe the Indonesian National Police also possesses assets and resources that could provide assistance,” he elaborated.
Prabowo specifically instructed the ministries and relevant agencies to ensure the quality of rest area services at ports, airports and railway stations. He expressed hope that there would be no queues and the situation would remain under control.
He then conveyed messages to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Minister of Digital and Information Technology that the availability of fuel, electricity supply and internet connectivity must be maintained at stable levels.
“This is the second Lebaran celebration of our administration. The Coordinating Minister for Food, the Minister of Trade, and the Minister of Agriculture must ensure stable food supplies and maintain price stability,” Prabowo stated.
