The head of the Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, has requested that homes resulting from the government’s house renovation programme also receive free land certificates from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

This request was made during Hashim’s inspection of the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) implementation site in Malendeng Ward, Paal Dua Subdistrict, Manado, North Sulawesi, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

During the visit, Hashim was accompanied by Manado Mayor Andrei Angouw and the Director General of Urban Housing at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Sri Haryati.

In the inspection, Hashim appreciated the implementation of the house renovation programme by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR).

“Mothers and fathers who receive this programme will subsequently, in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, be able to receive free certification. There are tens of millions of Indonesians who have houses but do not yet have certificates,” he said.

Hashim also urged the government to compile data on citizens who do not yet have ownership certificates.

According to him, this step is a government priority in providing legal certainty over home ownership.

“That will then allow the issuance of ownership certificates/building use rights; that has become a priority for the President. This is a concrete step in empowering low-income communities, including in North Sulawesi,” he said.

Specifically for North Sulawesi, the number has increased from 748 units to 8,198 units.

In Manado City, the programme has an allocation of 290 units spread across four subdistricts, namely Bunaken with 123 units, Tuminting 60 units, Mapanget 33 units, and Paal Dua 74 units.

Besides Manado, the BSPS programme also reaches several other areas in North Sulawesi, including North Minahasa Regency with 720 units, Minahasa Regency 344 units, and Bolaang Mongondow Regency with the largest allocation of 968 units.

Island regions such as Talaud Islands and Sangihe Islands each receive 200 units and 100 units.
