Prabowo's Directive: Discussion of Labour Bill to Conclude This Year

President Prabowo Subianto targets the completion of discussions on the Labour Bill this year. The discussion of the bill follows the Constitutional Court’s decision to revoke the Job Creation Law.

Prabowo conveyed this target in his speech at the peak of International Labour Day commemorations at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

“I have also instructed the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Law to promptly, together with the House of Representatives, finalise the Labour Bill,” Prabowo stated.

“If possible, it must be completed this year as well, and the law must favour the working class,” he continued.

Prabowo hopes that the law produced by the government will always guarantee justice for all Indonesian people.
