Prabowo's Directive: Bobby and Teddy Distribute Thousands of Food Packages in Medan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, along with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, distributed thousands of food aid packages to the public in Medan and its surroundings on the night of takbiran, following instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.

“Earlier in North Sumatra, after breaking the fast and on the night of takbiran, the President instructed us to distribute food aid and assistance to the people of North Sumatra, particularly those in Medan and the surrounding areas,” said Bobby in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday night.

Bobby explained that the distribution of the food aid packages took place at the North Sumatra Governor’s Office, with quantities ranging from around 2,000 to 5,000 packages.

The aid, he said, was intended for the general public, including online motorcycle taxi drivers who were still working on the night of takbiran.

“Indeed, the public, especially the ojol drivers, usually have large groups. When one comes, they invite their friends, so many ojol friends gathered there earlier,” he stated.

Furthermore, Bobby mentioned that the distribution of the packages began in the afternoon and continued until the night of takbiran.

“We started distributing from the afternoon. Of course, we took a break for iftar. And after breaking the fast, the President again instructed us, along with the Cabinet Secretary, to distribute them again at the Governor’s Office,” Bobby concluded.

It is known that President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday afternoon to observe the night of takbiran with the people of North Sumatra and to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, on Saturday (21/3).

President Prabowo arrived at 16:55 WIB, accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Indonesian Government Public Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.

Meanwhile, several officials who welcomed President Prabowo’s arrival included Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, Bukit Barisan Regional Command Commander Major General TNI Hendy Antariksa, and North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Whisnu Hermawan.

Previously, Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated that President Prabowo was scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang Regency on Saturday (21/3).

“Yes, that’s correct. The President will spend the night of takbiran in North Sumatra and, insyaallah, will perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh tomorrow morning,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

President Prabowo will also hold halalbihalal gatherings with local residents after the Eid prayers.
