Prabowo's Directive: Andre Rosiade Distributes 122 Eid al-Adha Cattle in West Sumatra
West Sumatra, 21 May 2026 — The number of sacrificial animals distributed this year rose from the previous year, with the mass kurban programme reaching more recipients in several areas of West Sumatra.
“Alhamdulillah, 122 head of cattle have been gathered to be distributed across districts and cities in West Sumatra. This is how we, as Gerindra cadres, continue to serve the people. May it be accepted and used together,” said Andre Rosiade, in a written statement on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
Andre explained that the increase in sacrificial animals this year is a follow-up to the instructions from the RI President and simultaneously the Chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto. He noted that amid the global energy and food crises, Gerindra cadres were asked to continue assisting the people through various forms of social care.
“One concrete form of care is to increase the number of sacrificial animals for the community. We see this kurban movement becoming more massive. Many Gerindra cadres have gone directly to help the people. This is part of our ikhtiar as Prabowo’s cadres to continue providing benefits to the community,” he said.
One of the recipients of the sacrificial cattle is the Ikatan Alumni SMAN 9 Padang (IKASMANSE). The animals will later be slaughtered and distributed to the extended families of SMAN 9 Padang affected by floods and galodo in Padang City.
As a sign of appreciation, IKASMANSE alumni and the committee installed a banner thanking Andre Rosiade for the aid to disaster victims.
IKASMANSE alumni administrator Indrayadi described the cattle aid as a tangible form of care to those in need.
“Alhamdulillah, we thank Bang Andre Rosiade for this cattle aid. The aid is very helpful and a tangible form of care to the SMAN 9 Padang family affected by floods and galodo,” said Indrayadi.
He hoped similar care would continue to be forged within the community, especially in helping residents experiencing misfortune and hardship.
“Hopefully the ties of friendship and care like this will endure. We pray that Mr Andre Rosiade is always granted health and ease in carrying out his mandate for the people,” he added.
Appreciation also came from Zeki Satria, Administrator of the Al Ihsan Mosque in Gasang, Nagari Maninjau, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency. He believes the cattle aid will help the community obtain meat for Eid al-Adha.
“Alhamdulillah, residents are eagerly awaiting this sacrifice. May it be beneficial for the community and we thank Mr Andre Rosiade. May he continue to succeed in executing his mandate as a representative of the people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pariaman City Mayor Yota Balad also expressed appreciation for Andre Rosiade’s attention to residents in his area.
“Alhamdulillah, this year again the cattle are distributed by Mr Andre Rosiade to Pariaman. Previously there has also been substantial aid such as basic food packages and other assistance. Of course this is very beneficial for the community. Thank you, Mr Andre Rosiade,” said Yota Balad.
