Prabowo's Complaint About the Presidency: Don't Think It's Easy, I've Already Committed

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has stated to all parties not to consider becoming President of Indonesia as an easy job. Prabowo made this remark during a briefing at the Government Working Meeting (Raker) at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

Initially, Prabowo emphasised that all statements regarding work programmes are well recorded. He mentioned that everything conveyed has data backing it.

“Brothers and sisters, so in two years, three years, you note it down, right? This is recorded, Prabowo Subianto said it, there is a recording. Everything I convey has mathematical benchmarks. I state that I plan to build 1,000 fishing villages in 2026; in December 2026, we will check, brothers and sisters, then you can hold Prabowo accountable for how many fishing villages are completed,” said Prabowo.

Therefore, Prabowo stated that being President is not easy. This is because there are many tasks that must be completed.

“So, standing here, brothers and sisters, don’t think this is an easy job. Those who want to become President, congratulations, I’ve already committed,” he said.

On that occasion, Prabowo admitted that he has no days off while serving as President. “So, I have to work now; there are no holidays,” he stated.

Prabowo then commented on the perception that one can frequently travel abroad for leisure while being President.

“People say Prabowo is enjoying himself, travelling abroad, brothers and sisters, to secure oil, I have to go everywhere. We went to Japan the other day, we got this; I’m setting off again, I want to set off again to a certain country. Later when I depart, you know where, to secure as well,” he added.
