Prabowo's 868kg Sacrificial Cow Arrives in Tegallinggah, Buleleng
Ar-Rahmah Mosque in Tegallinggah Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali, has received its first-ever sacrificial cow donation from President Prabowo Subianto. The mosque’s caretakers expressed surprise and pride upon hearing the news. The nearly 900kg cow arrived at the mosque on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, in the afternoon.
“I was personally surprised too, and I immediately informed all the worshippers. This is amazing,” said Mualim, the sacrifice committee chairman and mosque caretaker.
According to detikBali’s on-site report, the large cow arrived at the mosque at 2:37 PM WITA. It was carefully unloaded from a pickup truck before being tied to a post prepared by the committee. Many locals watched the arrival enthusiastically.
Mualim stated that Ar-Rahmah Mosque is one of the recipients of the President’s sacrificial cow donation in Bali. He said the donation is a source of pride for the worshippers and local community, as it is the first time the mosque has received such assistance.
“Since it’s for the entire Buleleng Regency, our mosque has been selected as one of the recipients of the President’s sacrificial donation. It’s incredible for us,” he added.
The sacrificial slaughter of the President’s cow is scheduled for Thursday, 28 May 2026. The meat will be distributed to Ar-Rahmah Mosque worshippers and Muslim residents of Tegallinggah Village.
Meanwhile, I Made Suparma, Head of the Livestock and Animal Health Division at Buleleng’s Agriculture, Food Security, and Fisheries Department, explained that the sacrificial cow donation originated from a letter from the Presidential Secretariat received approximately two months ago.
After receiving the letter, Buleleng Regency government searched for a cow meeting the specified criteria. A cow owned by Ketut Sukata in Petandakan was found to be suitable for the President’s sacrificial donation.
“Initially estimated at 902kg through manual measurement, the weight was later confirmed at 868kg via digital weighing by BPTU and provincial authorities. However, it may have increased since then,” Suparma said.
He added that the cow received special care before being sent to the location, with regular health checks and vitamin administration by veterinarians to ensure it remained in optimal condition.
“Health monitoring and care continued until it was officially designated as the President’s sacrificial cow for Buleleng,” he added.
