Prabowo: Workers and Employers Shouldn’t Keep Asking

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto reminded workers in Indonesia not to be forever asking. Employers, he added, must also work hard and are burdened by things such as repaying bank loans.

He said this while delivering the State of the Nation Address at the 19th Plenary Session of the DPR RI regarding KEM and PPKF RAPBN 2027 in the 19th Plenary Session of the Year of Session 2025-2026 at Nusantara Building MPR/DPR/DPD-RI, Jakarta, Wednesday (20 May 2026).

“Let me remind workers not to just keep asking. Employers also work hard. They’re burdened too. They must repay bank loans. But the government wants to cooperate. We provide a lot of social protection to ease the burden on entrepreneurs so it is not too heavy,” he continued.

“And we are open. If there are entrepreneurs who have difficulties, report to us,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo Also Warns Entrepreneurs

The same message was conveyed by Prabowo to entrepreneurs, namely to not repeatedly seek concessions from the government.

“If they ask for a reduction in tariffs, we will help temporarily. Do not continuously request a reduction in tax tariffs,” he said.

“We understand. The global crisis, we understand, we will help,” he added.

In that occasion, Prabowo also said that entrepreneurs and the government must work together.

“If we are united, if we work together like this, private entrepreneurs, government, MSMEs, central government, regional governments, all of us working together, all share the same calling, we will create extraordinary prosperity,” Prabowo asserted.
