Prabowo Witnesses Inauguration Oath of Nine New Ombudsman Commissioners
President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the oath of office for nine commissioners of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia on Friday, 10 April 2026. These members of the oversight institution will serve for five years during the 2026-2031 period.
The nine sworn-in commissioners include Hery Susanto as Chairman and Rahmadi Indra Tektona as Vice Chairman. Each also serves concurrently as an Ombudsman member. The other members are Abdul Ghoffar, Fikri Yasin, Maneger Nasution, Nuzran Joher, Partono, Robertus Na Endi Jaweng, and Syafrida Rachmawati Rasahan.
During the oath-taking, they pledged to fulfil their duties as chairman, vice chairman, and members of the Ombudsman properly and fairly. “We will never accept, directly or indirectly, any promise or gift. We will uphold the 1945 Constitution and implement all regulations with full responsibility,” they stated at the event in the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
The Ombudsman members were appointed through Presidential Decree Number 20/P of 2026. The decree was signed by President Prabowo on 13 February 2026.
In addition to the Ombudsman members, President Prabowo also witnessed the oath-taking of a Constitutional Court justice. The sworn-in justice is Liliek Prisbawono Adi, who previously served as a high court judge at the Medan High Court since 19 April 2024. Liliek replaces Anwar Usman, who has retired.
Furthermore, Prabowo inaugurated Andi Rahadian as Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen. As ambassador, Andi Rahadian will be based in Muscat, Oman.
The House of Representatives (DPR) previously approved the nine members of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 2026-2031 period through a plenary session on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. During that session, Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Muhammad Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, read out the report on the results of the fitness and propriety test for prospective Ombudsman members, which was held on 26 January 2026.
According to Rifqinizamy, the selection of prospective Ombudsman members was conducted carefully and democratically, resulting in the determination of nine Ombudsman members from 18 candidates selected. The politician from the NasDem Party also announced the names of the Ombudsman members and leadership for 2026-2031.
