Prabowo: When I travel abroad, I am highly honoured

Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said he is highly honoured when undertaking overseas official visits, adding that many countries are asking for Indonesia’s assistance.

This was stated during the 19th plenary meeting of the DPR RI, during the Fifth Session of the 2025-2026 legislative year, in the framework of delivering the Macro-Economic Framework (KEM) and the Core Principles of Fiscal Policy (PPKF) for the APBN 2027, at Nusantara Hall of the MPR/ DPR/ DPD-RI, Jakarta, on Wednesday 20 May 2026.

“When I travel abroad as President of Indonesia, I am very honoured now. In fact, many countries are asking for help from us. They are asking for fertiliser assistance from us because our fertiliser production is greater. We are being asked for assistance by Australia. We provide it. India, Brazil, Philippines,” Prabowo said.

He added that this achievement marks a new historical milestone. He urged all segments of society and government to stay vigilant.

He also said Indonesia’s bargaining position and prestige on the international stage is now at its highest level.

“Imagine Indonesia now being able to help countries wealthier than us,” Prabowo said.

“This should not make us arrogant. But it should make us more confident. There are still many shortcomings,” he added.

Thus, Prabowo stressed the importance of transparency and collective courage in evaluating the government’s internal affairs. According to him, Indonesia’s extraordinary economic growth potential can only be fully realised if all elements of the nation commit wholeheartedly to eradicating all forms of corruption and budget leakage.

“I am someone who always invites us to be bold in facing our shortcomings. We must be brave to face difficulties. We must be brave to face challenges. We must be able to address irregularities in our economy. If we do so, we will grow extraordinarily,” he said.
