Prabowo Welcomes Thai PM in Jakarta, First Official Visit in 15 Years

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul for a state visit at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Prabowo noted that the visit was the first official trip by a Thai prime minister in 15 years. The remarks were made during a bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday. Prabowo described the visit as a historic moment. He stated that the visit served as the second leaders’ consultation between Indonesia and Thailand, following the elevation of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership during his visit to Bangkok last year. Prabowo expressed confidence that the meeting would set a clear direction for the next phase of the partnership. He stressed that the strategic partnership must be future-oriented and focused on delivering tangible benefits for the people of both nations, adding that close cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand would contribute to a stronger and more stable ASEAN.
