Prabowo Welcomes Indian PM Narendra Modi at Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta
President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Base Ops of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, on Monday (6/7/2026) afternoon. According to observations by CNBC Indonesia, the aircraft carrying Modi landed at approximately 17:23 WIB.
Prabowo personally greeted Modi as he descended the aircraft stairs. The two leaders shared a firm handshake and engaged in brief conversation.
Following the greeting, Prabowo introduced the ministers present to welcome Modi. The attendees included the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono; Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi; and Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya. The Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, was also in attendance.
Prabowo and Modi subsequently viewed a prepared traditional Indonesian dance performance. Afterwards, Prabowo escorted Modi to a waiting Mercedes Benz S-Class V12.
Modi’s state visit is a reciprocal gesture following President Prabowo’s visit to India in January 2025. A few months prior to that, Prabowo met Modi directly on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil in November 2024.
