Prabowo Welcomes Indian PM Narendra Modi at Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base operations area in East Jakarta on Monday evening. Based on observations, the aircraft carrying Modi landed at approximately 17:23 Western Indonesia Time. Prabowo greeted Modi directly as he descended the aircraft stairs. The two leaders then shook hands warmly and conversed briefly. Afterwards, Prabowo introduced the ministers who were present to welcome Modi. They included Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty was also in attendance. Prabowo and Modi then watched a traditional Indonesian dance performance that had been prepared. Following this, Prabowo escorted Modi to a waiting Mercedes-Benz S-Class V12. Modi’s state visit is a reciprocal one following Prabowo’s visit to India in January 2025. The two leaders had also met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil in November 2024.
