Prabowo welcomes former leaders at Eid open house

Among those received were sixth president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and his family, including Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and MPR Deputy Speaker Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono.

Prabowo greeted them and exchanged pleasantries before accompanying them into the palace.

They were also received by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Second Lady Selvi Ananda before proceeding to a private gathering.

On the same occasion, Prabowo welcomed seventh president Joko Widodo (Jokowi), his wife Iriana, and their son Kaesang Pangarep.

The president then escorted them into a chamber, where they held a cordial discussion.

In a statement, the Presidential Secretariat said the open house serves to strengthen ties, maintain harmony among leaders, and reaffirm national unity.

Prabowo continued the tradition of hosting an Eid open house, meeting not only state officials but also members of the public.

An estimated 4,000 to 5,000 people attended the event, which concluded at around 6 p.m. local time.
